The Indira Gandhi Technological and Medical Sciences University, Ziro, Arunachal Pradesh appointed a new Vice Chancellor today and this announcement was made during the Regional Meet on Women, Nursing and Environment organised by the University at the local Abotani Auditorium at Ziro.
Dr. Mridula Saikia Khanikor receiving the Letter of Appointment as the Vice Chancellor of IGTAMSU from the Chancellor Dr. Markandey Rai in the presence of the Founder Chancellor, IGTAMSU Dr. P R Trivedi and the renowend Pharmacologist Dr. H.N. Khanikor. She also took Oath in the presence of the Faculty Members and Students of IGTAMSU, Ziro, Arunachal Pradesh
She took Oath of Office
and pledged for maintaining high standards at the University.
The following are the excerpts of her Oath.
"I, Dr. Mridula Saikia Khanikor, do swear in the name of God
that I will faithfully execute the office of Vice Chancellor of
the Indira Gandhi Technological and Medical Sciences University,
Ziro, Arunachal Pradesh and will to the best of my ability
preserve, protect and defend the Constitution, Act and
Regulations of the University.
I, Dr. Mridula Saikia Khanikor do hereby solemnly affirm that I
will leave no stone unturned to ensure that the University where
I am today joining as the Vice Chancellor will become a world
class University with extraordinary and ultramodern facilities
for enabling the students in acquiring expert knowledge for
making our country cleaner, greener and prosperous".
After taking Oath, she addressed the selected Faculty Members
and Staff Members of IGTAMSU in the presence of the Chancellor
and other office bearers. She assured them of maintaining high
standards of teaching, training and research in all streams by
developing new and critical approaches for the existing and the
future academic programmes in general and for the nursing and
paramedical courses in particular.
Both Dr. P R Trivedi (Founder Chancellor) and Dr. Markandey Rai
(Chancellor) lauded the efforts of Prof. Arvind Kumar who
resigned today as the Vice Chancellor of IGTAMSU as he had will
instrumental in optimizing the available resources of the
University in a short period of seven months. It may be
mentioned that Prof. Arvind Kumar, a renowned scholar of
environmental sciences had joined IGTAMSU as the Vice Chancellor
in April 2018. He resigned because of health grounds and
locational disadvantage.
